FIVE MINUTES WITH: NATALIE ALLEN

Celebrating a decade with Thames & Newcastle this year, Natalie heads up our Property Management & Aftercare Services division.

Having always had an interest in the family business, she was inspired to join the team in 2015 to help clients maximise their investments and keep their homes running smoothly.

Can you describe a typical day?

There’s no such thing as a typical day, which is what makes this role so enjoyable. Every day is different, bringing new challenges and opportunities. That said, my day generally involves planning the next round of service visits for our clients and organising the relevant trades to attend. If any queries or issues arise, I’m on hand to respond or provide pricing for any additional work that may be required at clients’ properties. I also get involved in the contracting side of our business as needed, which adds further variety to the role.

Why is it important for clients to consider a maintenance solution?

A home is usually people’s biggest investment, so it’s vital to look after it properly to ensure it remains in top condition for years to come.

Regular maintenance is key, especially for homes with specialist equipment, particularly renewable energy solutions such as solar panels, air source heat pumps, and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR). These technologies must be serviced regularly to keep them in good working order and prevent potentially costly repairs or replacements down the line.

What can clients expect from T&N’s property management and aftercare service?

Our preventative maintenance programmes typically include one or two visits per year to fully service all equipment and ensure its operating correctly. We offer a range of programmes, from a simple annual boiler service to maintaining more complex installations such as swimming pools, solar panels, and security systems.

Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships with specialist partners, enabling us to provide comprehensive solutions covering the entire home, all managed through a single point of contact at Thames & Newcastle.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I love the variety of my job, meeting new people, and building on the relationships we’ve formed with our clients during works on their properties.
